I've searched all over the internet and have been unable to find a place where I can buy the sheet music for Chopi, by Pablo Escobar (no relation). Does anybody have any ideas where I can find an arrangement for this hard to find music?

You can preview David Russell playing this piece on his CD Aire Latino or on his website, here:

Russell plays Escobar

Cheers!

Sweet sounding guitar, and he plays it quite well! Never mind hard to find, it's hard to play that comes immediately to my mind. Respect to you.

John, Have you emailed Russel? He will respond and let you know whether it is even published. I had a question about a Torroba piece earlier this year and he did get back to me. Actually, he apologized for not responding more quickly. He was on tour at the time and didn't have the music with him.

I have found that sometimes the pros record music that is available only as urtext from the publisher. Dale Kavanaugh is one such artist (beautiful and talented too! ).

Good Luck, Steve

Hmm, it never occurred to me to actually e-mail David Russell. That's great that he acually responded to your e-mail. Maybe I should give that a try and see what happens. Thanks for the idea.

Cheers!

John
